BVA 303 RESEARCH

Redevelopment of question and interview.

What is practiced-based research???

  • Making stuff.
  • Investigation.
  • Experimenting.
  • Self evaluation/reflection.
  • Hands-on practice.
  • Write about the results of the experiments.
  • Have a question - proposing a theory.
  • Academic theoretical texts.
  • Technical- How to do it.
IDEA:
Create a concept to form the idea an a issue that your are addressing. Such as the theme and how it impacts your question and your work. The idea is the narrative or the idea of whats going to drive your story. To give you focus to your work and a drive to do it. They have relation to each-other to investigate the question and the relation of the project.

Question: before.
How to convey a Journey to explore the "Sub-Conscious" or the Inner Persona through mixed mediums?

Add into question...
Create a new art movement.
Why use mixed mediums.
Why it links to my idea about portraiture.

Question: after. How can I create a revolutionized art movement to explore the idea of the Inner Persona using mixed mediums.

Question: after 2. How can I convey a visual idea of a relationship between portrait and painter, to create a contemporary art movement using mixed mediums?

Definition/Key terms...
  • Convey.
  • Journey.
  • Explore.
  • Inner Persona.
  • Sub-Conscious.
Rationale - Topic of interest:
To create a new and revolutionized movement to bring into a contemporary art form. Along with the idea of using mixed mediums to create a futurist styled art.To bring the old into the new??

Methodology - proposed methodology.

  • I am wanting to explore the idea of a surrealist perspective using a mixture of different and combined mixed mediums.

  • I will propose this through the use of artist models and different mediums individually then combined to series showing the perspective of surrealism.

  • This can be conveyed through a theme or idea such as the ‘Inner Persona’.

  • Also I will explore the artist techniques and the history of portraiture paintings.

  • Will be using mediums such as Photography, Painting and Digital media.

Documentation:
Active documentation will be blogged alongside project, images of project will be attached to personal blog of work. Along with documenting artist models and how the relate to your work.

Arguments - Relating to your question.
To me the surrealist perspective is a outer "worldly" idea. having no control of the ideas creates a new level of thinking. wanting this to influence my imagery and key ideas to create a new and improved art form by using previous years movements of art. To create my own revolutionized traditional practitioner, to bring past to future?
Organisation - Outline how your research will be organized:

To out line my work I am wanting to create a contemporary and revolutionized art movement. Linking contemporary mediums into my art work to bring traditional painting techniques into are new art form and to combine them to create a new style/movement. Along with linking it to my portraiture stylized works.
